The Mayor of Trowbridge for the Civic Year 2011-2012 is Councillor Nick Blakemore. The Mayor is elected by the Council at the Annual Council meeting in May for a period of office of one year. The Mayor is always a serving councillor and acts as Chair of the Council.
Mayors Message
Having served as Mayor of Trowbridge in 2007/08, I am delighted to once again receive the unanimous support of my fellow councillors in being elected Mayor of Trowbridge for the Civic Year 2011/12. It is a great honour to serve the town and I look forward to renewing old acquaintances and also making new ones. In this time of economic uncertainty in the Town I will do my utmost to promote Trowbridge in every way possible.
Though there are many worthy charities within the area, I have decided that the Mayoral's Charities for 2011/12 will be Larkrise Community Farm, and Wiltshire Air Ambulance, both of whom do sterling work both here in Trowbridge and further afield.
I sincerely hope to see as many of the townsfolk as possible over the coming 12 months.
