Councillor Nick Blakemore was elected the new Mayor of Trowbridge for 2011/12 at Trowbridge
 Town Council's Annual Council meeting held on Tuesday 17th May 2011.
Councillor Blakemore said "Having served as Mayor of Trowbridge in 2007/08, I am delighted to once again receive the unanimous support of my fellow councillors in being elected Mayor of Trowbridge for the Civic Year 2011/12. It is a great honour to serve the town and I look forward to renewing old acquaintances and also making new ones. In this time of economic uncertainty in the Town I will do my utmost to promote Trowbridge in every way possible".
"Though there are many worthy charities within the area, I have decided that the Mayor's Charities for 2011/12 will be Larkrise Community Farm, and Wiltshire Air Ambulance, both of whom do sterling work both here in Trowbridge and further afield"
"I sincerely hope to see as many of the townsfolk as possible over the coming 12 months".
