Having interviewed each of the girls and boys taking part, the judges had a very difficult decision to make. After much deliberation they selected

Soap Box Derby
The 2009 event proved a great success with 18 children and 8 adults being brave enough to race down Castle Street in their purpose built soap-boxes.
With the sun shining a large number of people stopped to watch the action and the thrills and spills, which included one entrant completely demolishing the finish line; fortunately there were no broken bones.
Thanks to everyone who came along; competitors and spectators. Thanks must also go to N J Hemmens Garden Services for supporting the event

Carnival Country Fayre The Country Fayre took place on Saturday 5 September with the Town Park full of activites for children, stalls raising funds for a variety of local organisations/charities and displays by local groups; Ginger Jive, Esprit Gym Club, Trowbridge Youth Band, Angels with Attitude and Starburzt. In addition a number of early risers joined in by taking part in the car boot sale.
Despite a lovely sunny start to the day, unfortunately the clouds came and there were a few showers; spirits were not dampened though and a fun days was had by all.

Procession
Glorious weather resulted in a great 2009 Carnival with particpants and spectators turning out in their masses. With over 60 entrants the procession was larger than usual and contained some really bright, cheerful and spectacular entries.
Thanks to everyone involved, whether you particpated, collected money, stewarded/marshalled or just turned out to support the event: without you Carnival wouldn't happen. Photo's will be available shortly, in the meantime have a look at the report on the Wiltshire Times website.
