Facilities Support Officer
1 Year Fixed Term Contract

Trowbridge Town Council is currently seeking a Facilities Support Officer to assist the Facilities Manager; to support the planning and operation of safe and successful community events for and on behalf of Trowbridge Town Council.They will provide administration and planning support to the Facilities Manager covering Insurance, Health & Safety, the Civic Centre entertainment programme and Technology. Additionally, they will provide advice and guidance on all areas of infrastructure and health and safety to event organisers, to ensure events run safely and that liability is covered. This role will support individuals/organisations undertaking community activities in the Town’s neighbourhoods.

Previous experience of working in a similar role would be advantageous.

Apprentice Sports Coach
1 Year Fixed Term Apprenticeship commencing 1st January 2018

The main purpose of this role is to act as an Apprentice Community Sports Coach for Trowbridge Town Council whilst completing an apprenticeship programme resulting in an NVQ Level 2 and National Governing Body Sports Coaching Qualifications.

This involves working with clubs and community groups to ensure a high quality of coaching is provided, alongside any administrative duties necessary, such as maintaining accurate attendance registers and carrying out risk assessments.

Community Play Worker

The main purpose of this role is to act as Community Play Worker for Trowbridge Town Council in assisting in the operation and development of the after-school clubs, to ensure their continued smooth and effective running.

Casual Bar & Venue Assistants

The Civic Centre are looking to recruit Casual Bar and Venues Assistants to assist the operations team in delivering the in-house catering services at Trowbridge Civic Centre.
Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering excellent customer service at all times
  • To serve both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages from our bar during events
  • To serve hot beverages quickly and efficiently, meeting our high standards
  • To assist in keeping the front of house and Civic Centre facilities clean and tidy at all times
  • To ensure the back of house duties are carried out as directed by the Duty Manager
  • To always adhere to company policies, procedures and licensing laws.

Ideally you will be a strong team player with the ability to work under pressure in a calm, effective manner and have a friendly, helpful and positive approach towards customers.

Contractor position

Project Manager consultancy for Trowbridge Museum’s Expansion Project

Trowbridge Museum has recently secured an HLF grant of £1,172,500 towards its £2.4 million expansion and development.

The main responsibilities of the Project Manager’s contract will be as follows:

  • To work with the Museum Curator, Town Clerk, Project Architect and the Design and Interpretation Consultant to manage all aspects of the delivery Phase to ensure that the expansion is delivered to the appropriate quality standards, on time and on budget
  • To manage QS services for the project
  • To work with the Museum Curator, Facilities Manager and Project Architect as appropriate to procure the Main contractor for the delivery of the main construction, repair, conservation and installation contract
  • To work with the Museum Curator, Facilities Manager and Main Contractor as appropriate to procure sub-contractors for the Delivery of the Design and Interpretation elements and to monitor the performance of the Design and Interpretation consultant and sub-contractors as required
  • To report on all aspects of the project to the Museum Curator and support the Museum Curator in reporting to the Museum Development Group, the Museum and Tourism Committee and others as required
  • To assist the Museum Curator with the preparation of reports and payment requests to the HLF

Applicants will be asked to submit a proposal based on the specified fee of £41,000. The proposal is to include all expenses for the work as outlined within the brief and is to be completed over the Project’s lifetime. The proposal should demonstrate the Consultant’s appreciation and understanding of the Project Manager’s role and give an outline of how they intend to approach the tasks in methodology and timescale. Their proposal should include:

  • Details of relevant experience of similar projects
  • Details of methodology and approach to Project brief
  • Details of how they would meet the proposed timetable with appropriate milestones
  • Details of the breakdown of the fee, inclusive of all expenses and how it will work in relation to the delivery of key milestones within the Project
  • Details of two referees
  • Details of two reference websites that showcase experience of involvement with relevant projects

Evaluation Consultant contract for Trowbridge Museum’s Expansion Project

Trowbridge Museum has recently secured an HLF grant of £1,172,500 towards its £2.4 million expansion and development.

The scope of the contract is to review the existing evaluation methods and to devise a framework that will effectively measure the outputs and outcomes for the duration of the our HLF project, incorporating Learning and Outreach, activities and interpretation. The consultation will also include the production of evaluation materials and tools and training staff and volunteers to effectively use the framework. The framework will detail:

  • What data will be captured
  • How the data will be gathered
  • How achievement will be monitored and measured
  • How the results will be utilised to inform future programming and Forward Planning

Some evaluation work will be carried out by staff and volunteers during the Delivery Phase. However, the consultant will undertake focussed more specialised elements of the evaluation which involve face to face consultation of organised focus groups.

The consultant will be expected to prepare an Evaluation Report at the end of the Museum’s expansion project.

Applicants will be asked to submit an outline proposal for the evaluation consultancy which should include:

  • Approach
  • Methodology
  • Projected timescale
  • Evidence of a successful track record
  • At least two client references

The fee for the consultancy is fixed at £1,000 and excludes VAT but includes all expenses
