Trowbridge Mayor Deb Halik recently attended the AGM of Trowbridge Talking News, held at Trowbridge Rugby Club. The charity provides flash drive recordings of news items from The Wiltshire Times for the blind and visually-impaired, along with specially-designed players to enable the recipient to listen to the recordings. The charity is manned voluntarily, and the Mayor spoke of the valuable work carried out by TTN, herself being one of its voluntary readers. Thanks was also given to the Town Council, whose offices act as a collection centre for the flash drives. To learn more about the work of Trowbridge Talking News, or becoming a volunteer, click here.
