1300 fish were recently given a new home at Biss Meadows in Trowbridge. A mixture of chub, dace and roach, the fish had been reared on a fish farm in Nottingham, up to the age of 18 months. Released into the waters by specialists from the Environment Agency, a number of passers-by and volunteers from the Friends of Biss Meadows came to watch.

Weather conditions were ideal for the fish to be added to a new environment, as the Environment Agency advised that winter is the best time to release them. Once added to the waters, the fish quickly swam off to explore their new surroundings.
