At a Full Council Meeting of Trowbridge Town Council on Tuesday May 15th, Councillor Deborah Halik came to the end of her term as Mayor of the town for the year 2017-2018. The incoming Mayor, Councillor Dennis Drewett, asked Councillor Peter Fuller, Leader Of The Council, to give a vote of thanks to Councillor Halik for her year of service in the position, and to present her with the customary Mayor’s Book.
Reflecting on her year, Councillor Halik paid tribute to the town and its people, particularly those who work in the voluntary and charity sectors. Throughout her term, over £5,000 was raised for her chosen charity, Wiltshire MIND, and this was presented on the evening to Carolyn Beale, Chief Executive of the charity. When asked to choose the one instance which defined her term as Mayor, she stated that the Remembrance Service in 2017 was that which will stay in her memory.
Trowbridge Town Council, whose customer service team supported Mayor Halik during her tenure, added that it had been a pleasure for all of the team to have worked with her.
