As part of its commitment the Town Council provides Fairtrade tea and coffee to clients at the Civic Centre as part of the hospitality packages provided for conferencing. A number of retailers in the town offer Fairtrade products. Details about Trowbridge Fairtrade Town are available from https://www.fairtradesouthwest.org.uk/trowbridge.aspx. Cllr Steve Oldrieve who is a town and Wiltshire Councillor and a member of Fairtrade Trowbridge said, “I am really pleased that the town council once again supported my proposal for a recommitment of the council’s commitment to Trowbridge being a Fairtrade Town and as a result support better prices, decent working conditions, local sustainability, and fair terms of trade for farmers and workers in the developing world.”
