A demonstration was held recently at the Civic Centre in  Trowbridge of a Hako street cleaning machine, which is being leased by the Town Council. Town councillors, staff and representatives of Bath and North East Somerset Council and Plymouth City Council also came to see the machine in action. Usually the role of Wiltshire Council, the Town Council has now expressed its wish to keep Trowbridge’s streets cleaner.
The machine will be active six days a week: the town centre will be cleaned twice a week, with the cleaner being employed throughout residential areas during the remainder of the week. from a ‘green’ viewpoint, the eco-friendly cleaning materials used are guaranteed not to be harmful to wildlife.
Neighbourhood Services Officer, Carl Ivin-Maddox said ‘This is an exciting venture for Trowbridge Town Council and we believe it will be a real bonus when it comes to cleaning up our streets’. If you have any enquiries or requests regarding the use of the machine, email Carl Ivin-Maddox on report@trowbridge.gov.uk.
