This is shocking news. The Post Office is so well used with Just a few thoughts – but signing queus back to the door. One very important point which has not apparently been discussed. Many disabled used the Post Office – with sopecial parking areas outside the door. Always friendly and helpful staff. Can the special counter facilities be maintained. Thi is TROWBRIDGE posdt Office and localresidets SHOULD have been consultedprior to its move. A few thoughts from a discusted resient.
This is shocking news. Have Trowbridge and District residents been cosul;ted prior to this move. Trowbridge Post Office sdo wel;l respectd – and often with qyeues as far back to the main doors is so well used – with special cobunter facilties – and friendly and competent staff – always ready to assist. What will happen to the many disabled – with designated parking spaces who used the OPost Office in Roundstone Street? A few thoughts from a disgusted resident.
Thank you for your comment. Trowbridge Residents were given the opportunity to air their concerns and questions regarding the Post Office’s proposed move earlier in the year. With regards to your comment about disabled parking you would have to contact Wiltshire Council Highway Services to discuss this with them.
I’d like to know what is being done to revitalise the Roundstone Street & Market Street area. So many businesses are closed or struggling and moving the post office will be the death of others
Thank you for your comment – we as a Town Council are obviously mindful of your concerns, and will bring your comment to the attention of the Town Development committee.
The queues are long enough now so what will it be when it’s in a shop. I’ve seen this at Dursley Rd Post Office, utter congestion! It’ll be even worse with sending and collecting parcels as there will be no other option. I’m disgusted, just so they can make even more profit!!!
T%hank you for your comment – we fully empathise with your concerns about the Post Office and WH Smith’s future capability in managing their customer traffic, however we are confident that the management of both operations will be able to make things as easy as possible.
It has been announced that 2000 Post Offices will be closing across the UK in the near future. Trowbridge PO is one of them, clearly. The chaotic congestion in WHS will be awful. It is something else that is killing Trowbridge town centre but with so much modern communication being done online and by text, and with parcels being delivered by alternative carriers, it is inevitable and comes as no real surprise. Very sad.
