We are now in our temporary office at The Civic and have been able to continue to run adult workshops, in smaller groups. The old Museum premises have been completely cleared of all our items, which have been archived and stored ready for transfer into the new space in the future.
On Monday 17th June the contractors officially began their work on site, with the first job being to clear out everything that was there before and though we are sad to see it go, we can’t wait for what comes next as your new Museum takes shape. There are so many exciting things; lots of interactives, smells, sounds and of course our amazing industrial machinery.
Plans for key areas such as the Learning Hub and Library and Research Facility are coming along and are set to be amazing spaces and unique community resources. Recruitment for two new members of our team will begin in the Autumn and we will be looking for lots of lovely new volunteers; if this sounds like you please do get in touch with us by emailing hannah.lyddy@trowbridge.gov.uk.
Finally, we are also working towards Trowbridge Heritage Festival 2020 which will be packed full of events and activities for all ages and interests, so watch this space for further details . . .
