Trowbridge Town Council employees took to the skies above Wiltshire on Saturday September 21st to raise funds for this year’s Mayoral charity ruksak45218 by taking part in a tandem parachute jump at Old Sarum airfield near Salisbury. Head of Leisure and Facilities Hayley Bell, Ellen Ford from The Civic and Neighbourhood Services’ Marcus Almadi, along with Lee Fletcher from the charity, jumped from an altitude of 10,000 feet, raising between them a total of over £700.
It was quite a day for all of the team of jumpers, for individual reasons: Hayley Bell said “It helped me conquer my fear of heights, was a bit of a landmark for my fortieth birthday earlier this year, and it was a privilege to be able to raise the cash.” Marcus had previously jumped from 10,000 feet, yet this time did so from 15,000, free-falling for one minute at 125 miles per hour!
Ellen said that for her it was the crowning moment to a great summer, and Lee from ruksak45218 incredibly made the jump, never before having been aboard an aircraft in his life.
