If you live in the Drynham Ward of Trowbridge, you may be interested to know that there’s a by-election being held for your area on Tuesday January 7th. Following a resignation in October this year, a position became available for a town councillor for the ward, therefore voting will now take place on the aforementioned date. Please click here for full details of the election, those standing as candidates, and where you’ll be able to cast your vote.
As a resident of Drynham Ward, this is the first I’ve heard of this ! Perhaps the contenders should make their presence known !
Thank you for your comment. Public notice was given regarding this election in late November, at which time we would have posted an article on our website, in addition to a hard copy being posted at the Dursley Road branch of McColl’s. We received notification from Electoral Services at Wiltshire Council of the candidates on Thursday, and duly re-posted the article with a link showing the details of said candidates: again, a hard copy of this was posted in the aforementioned location. I hope this clarifies the matter – however, I’m sure either candidate will soon be knocking at your door! Thanks again for your interest in the Town Council website, and please accept our good wishes for a very Happy Christmas.
Again? We only recently had an election in this ward!
Thanks for your comment and your interest in the Trowbridge Town Council website. The recent election in Drynham Ward to which you refer would have been to fill a post for a Unitary (County Council) Councillor, which became vacant due to the unfortunate death earlier this year of the incumbent. In January, Drynham voters will be doing so to elect a new Town Councillor for the ward, that position having become vacant due to a resignation. We hope this clarifies matters for you.
