Tracy and Graham, owners of popular Trowbridge coffee shop Leykers, are returning with a takeaway service soon . . . Here’s what they’ve had to say about COVID-19 . . .
“The Leykers team listened to the Prime Minister’s announcement on Friday March 20th with disbelief. We closed the store as normal and said some emotional goodbyes unsure of when we would actually be returning.
After 20 years of trading it actually seemed unbelievable, but still a possibility that we might never open our doors again. We set up a WhatsApp group to keep each other’s spirits up and communicated regularly with our friends and customers via social media. We also changed our windows regularly in line with events such as supporting NHS and VE Day, attempting to bring some joy to people passing down White Hart Yard and showing signs of hope from within the business. We have been keeping up with Government guidance, putting in protocols and procedures and adapting our product range to be able to welcome everyone back in a safe manner.
As a team we are remaining upbeat, and as a business we are viewing this as an opportunity to diversify, to support the community and to return stronger than ever. We are pleased to confirm we will be reopening on Wednesday 1st July for takeout, and for every purchase made we will be donating 2.5% of the full purchase price to Storehouse, our town’s local food bank. To keep up to date with developments, like our Facebook page – and we look forward to refreshing the town again.
