TOM’S SEASIDE HOLIDAY is a fantasy storybook . . . BUT IT’S MISSING A FRONT COVER . . . so our colleagues at Westbury Town Council have launched a competition for primary school children to design one!
They’re inviting kids to draw a colourful beach scene – postcard perfect, wacky or weird, but most importantly on a beach (no bigger than A4, please).
The winning drawing will be the book’s front cover with the winner’s name inside. The competition is in commemoration of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The main character of the story is Tom, and he is 8½. He is on his seaside holiday, spending his afternoons on the beach, poking around rock-pools and having fun. He finds more than you could ever imagine . . . but you’ll have to read the book to know more!
Conditions For Entries: Child’s name and age must be written on the reverse side of drawing, plus contact details of parent or guardian. All entries are to be put into an envelope marked COMPETITION, and sent to The Town Clerk, Westbury Town Council, The Laverton, BA13 3EN, or pop it in their letterbox.
Judging will take place on Thursday July 30th. Please note that the judges’ decision is final. Results will be published in the White Horse News, Thursday August 6th.
