Even though the Coronavirus pandemic continues, it has not dampened the entrepreneurial spirit of two local Trowbridge businesses, one of which offers the chance to find a pre-loved clothing or accessory bargain in one of the town’s charming little side streets, the other providing a place to relax or meet friends over a coffee or drink on the town’s busy Market Street . . .
Recently opened on Church Walk, near the town centre in Trowbridge is ‘Jo’s Dressing Room’. This new clothing shop sells pre-loved designer brands; clothing, handbags, shoes, boots and accessories etc. The owner, Jo Alford, says “I wanted to open up a shop that would not only recycle goods, but also to provide people with good quality pre-loved designer items, that were once expensive when new, but now pre-owned and in excellent condition, at a very affordable price.
“It gives people an opportunity to own handbag brands such as Mulberry, Coach, Marc Jacobs, Radley, at a fraction of the cost of the item when sold as new. This is the only shop like this in Trowbridge, so hopefully we will be able to welcome shoppers from other towns in the area.”

In a great position in Trowbridge’s town centre, BeeTees is a brand new cafe-bar to be found on Market Street, opposite the entrance to the Castle Place shopping centre. Ben Pidgeon and his partner Tom Morgan, along with their enthusiastic team, are bringing their wide experience of the hospitality industry to this new business, and after a hugely successful opening at the end of August, are looking forward to welcoming their customers with a range of coffees, alcoholic and soft drinks, and a brilliant cocktail selection. They’ll also be offering a varied menu for those looking to eat. Ben said “After months of planning and hard work we’re excited to finally be able to open our doors to Trowbridge and the surrounding areas. BeeTees is something a little bit different for the town centre. We have worked to create a relaxed, enjoyable environment for our guests to meet and share good times with friends and family. We have a wide drinks selection and we will shortly be launching a full food menu in the coming weeks followed shortly by the opening of our Cocktail Bar upstairs which will also be available for private functions.”
