During these uncertain and unprecedented times, and after much discussion, we have decided to proceed with the town’s Annual Remembrance Service to be held at St. James’ Church, followed by a Wreath Laying service at the town War Memorial on Sunday November 8th. Due to not being able to control social distancing and having to adhere to Covid-19 guidelines, we have however unfortunately had to cancel the parade for this year.

Timings for this year will be as follows:

9.45 am – Service commences in St. James’ Church, Trowbridge

10.58 am – Remembrance Service commences at the War Memorial

10.59 am – Last Post

11.00 am – Two Minutes’ Silence

11.30 am – Remembrance Service ends

Both services are available to watch online and we do encourage you to do this rather than actually attending in person. Links are below:

St James Church Service: stjamestrowbridge.co.uk and click on the Remembrance Service button. On Facebook, stjamestrowbridge.

Service at the War Memorial: Trowbridge.gov.uk and on Facebook, Discover Trowbridge.

If you are attending, then you must comply with Government guidelines. You must not be in groups larger than six, you must social distance (please wear a mask if this makes you more comfortable or if social distancing cannot be followed) and you must log yourself into the event. This can be done via a QR code which will be available on the day or, if you do not have this available, then please speak with a member of the team on the day and they will be pleased to assist. If you do not wish to have your details taken, then please do not attend and watch online instead.

Please be patient and we hope that you understand that we are all trying to keep ourselves and our community safe.
