Wiltshire Council has launched its local COVID-19 contact tracing partnership, with the aim of contacting positive cases quickly, so slowing the spread of the virus.
This local service will support the NHS Test and Trace service and it will step in should the national team be unable to reach a person in Wiltshire who has tested positive for COVID-19.
Anyone contacted by 0300 456 0100 is urged to answer this call, as this will be the council’s contact tracers looking to pass on information and advice as well as establish any close contacts of the positive cases to ensure they too also self-isolate. People are asked to save the phone number in their phone’s contact list so that they recognise immediately who is trying to reach them. The tracing team is made up of members of its public health service.
Gemma Brinn of Wiltshire Council’s Public Health Team has shared some information about the new local COVID-19 Contact Tracing Service, which you can watch on YouTube.
