This month, Tessa from the Museum brings us up to date . . .

“As we gradually move closer to reopening our doors, Trowbridge Museum is taking on its final shape and look with signage and interpretation boards being installed this month. We were also delighted to be able to drop off two of the flapper dresses from our collection to a textile conservator in Bristol at the end of last month: they are currently being assessed closely to decide on the best way to progress with the restoration. This was made possible by support from the public during our Crowdfunder and Art Fund campaign – so a massive thank you to everyone who donated or shared our page!”

Join the Trowbridge Museum team!

We are very excited to be recruiting for a Learning & Outreach apprentice at the museum. If you can role-play a factory overseer, make a clay dinosaur, help to carve 300 pumpkins in two days, reminisce with care home residents, lead a guided walk, and blow-up hundreds of balloons . . . then this might be the ideal role for you! We’re looking for enthusiastic applicants who are passionate about bringing Trowbridge’s rich heritage to the community – apply here by Wednesday March 24th!

Don’t forget to follow our websiteFacebookInstagram and twitter pages, as the restoration nears completion and we hope to announce our reopening date very soon!
