After a long period of closure, the swimming pool at Trowbridge Sports Centre in the town’s Frome Road will open its doors again in April, after the current lockdown conditions halted Wiltshire Council’s reopening plans in January. Plans are currently being made for the reopening on Monday April 12th, at the earliest.
The pool was forced to close in the latter part of 2019 for emergency work to repair the steel frame structures, which in itself was completed in late 2020. The proposed reopening date however remains subject to the Government confirming dates for indoor leisure facilities reopening as outlined in their Covid-19 roadmap.
Wiltshire Council expressed its wish to thank everyone for their patience in awaiting the reopening of the centre, and added that they look forward to welcoming swimmers back as soon as possible.
Places Leisure, who look after the facility, said that they were delighted at the prospect of welcoming our customers back to Trowbridge Sports Centre, and that the centre is ready to help support them with their health and wellbeing goals, in addition to having social distancing and hygiene measures in place to the highest standard.
