The NHS is keen to raise awareness of its National Diabetes Prevention Programme (NDPP) service, which is aimed at those within Wiltshire who are at high risk of developing Type 2 Diabetes.

The DPP is a behaviour change programme where people learn about diet, physical activity and strategies to improve their overall health, all aimed at reducing the risk of developing this condition.

Normally, people would access the programme through their GP: however, due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the subsequent pressure that GP practices are facing, for a limited time the NHS has introduced a self-referral option via the Diabetes UK ‘Know Your Risk Score’ – a check list of questions that can determine a person’s risk factors.
This has also enabled the programme to become more accessible to people within the Wiltshire area.

If you feel that you would like to learn more about this aid to better health, the self-referral option can be accessed via this link.
