What is probably the most prominent building in Trowbridge Town Centre has received a generous cash boost from the Government’s £1.57 billion Culture Recovery Fund.
Trowbridge Town Hall Trust was among more than 2,700 community organisations throughout the UK to benefit from the second round of awards, receiving £38,635 to help towards its recovery and reopening.
Trowbridge Town Hall’s director, David Lockwood, said “This award is testament to the local and national significance of the Town Hall to our cultural life and will afford us the greatest opportunity of continuing to realise the enormous potential of the building. Additionally, the funding will enable us to be able to stage events for both local people and visitors to the town to enjoy.
“Over the last year, we’ve given a lot of thought to the things we need to live. Now, hopefully, it’s time for us to return to the things that make life worth living.”
