Our museum tells the story of Trowbridge, the county town of Wiltshire. A town steeped in history, from being one of 23 Magna Carta Baron towns, through to its involvement as a prominent mill town, eventually producing cloth which was sought after across the world. Take a journey through history as we reveal the rich heritage of its residents and industrial impact on the woollen trade industry. Featuring never before seen objects and interactive activities for all ages, the museum showcases rare textile machinery such as the spinning jenny – one of only five left worldwide.
