Trowbridge Museum is hosting a range of craft activities this coming month to keep kids (and adults!) occupied for the remainder of the summer holidays.

Wednesday 4th August: Old-Fashioned Olympics
Feeling sporty? Come along to Trowbridge Museum’s Old-Fashioned Olympics and try your hand at bagatelle, hopscotch, shove ha-penny and more. There’s something for everyone today and laurel wreaths all round. Suitable for all ages, under 8s must be accompanied by an adult. Drop-in from 10.30 – 2.30.

Friday 6th August: Ancient Greece Family History Day
Discover the world of Ancient Greece, the home of the first Olympic games, in our fun and FREE family history day. Crafts, challenges and dressing up. Suitable for ages 8+.  Drop-in from 10.30 – 3.30.

Tuesday 10th August: Staycation Scrapbooks
Come and make a scrapbook to record all your summer staycation memories in. This simple but clever craft is suitable for ages 5+ and is completely FREE. Sessions at 10.30, 11.30, 1.30 and 2.30. Places can be reserved in advance by calling 01225 751339 or via Ticketsource – any unreserved places will be made available on the day.

Friday 13th August: Tie Dye Tee Shirts
Join us for some chilled out tie-dyeing. Bring a t-shirt of your own then knot it, twist it, tie it and dye it and take home something unique (and a bit damp!).  FREE. Suitable for ages 5+, under 8s must be accompanied by an adult.  Sessions at 10.30 and 1.30.  Places can be reserved in advance by calling 01225 751339 or via Ticketsource – any unreserved places will be available on the day. Please bring your own t-shirt as they are not provided.

Tuesday 17th August: Family Printing Day
Bring your family and create printed artworks of your own inspired by our ‘Illuminating the Overlooked’ temporary exhibition.  FREE.  Suitable for ages 5+, under 8s must be accompanied by an adult.  Drop-in 10.30 – 3.30.

Wednesday 18th August: Summer Collages
Celebrate the summer with a lovely seasonal collage.  FREE.  Suitable for all ages, under 8s must be accompanied by an adult. Drop-in sessions 10.30 – 12.30 and 1.30 – 3.30.

Monday 23rd August: Wonderful Windmills
We’re making our own version of the classic seaside windmill using drinking straws, pipe cleaners and coloured paper – the classics of children’s crafts.  FREE.  Suitable for all ages, under 8s must be accompanied by an adult. Sessions at 10.30, 11.30, 1.30 and 2.30. Tickets issued from 10am for morning sessions and from 1pm for the afternoon sessions.

Tuesday 24th August: Beautiful Blooms
Our final craft workshop of the summer holidays is another old favourite – Beautiful Blooms. You’ll be drawing, colouring in, cutting out, laminating (hooray!) and sticking and taking home a bright, beautiful, summery bloom.  FREE. Suitable for ages 5+, under 8s must be accompanied by an adult.  Sessions at 10.30, 11.10, 11.50, 1.30, 2.10 and 2.50.  Tickets issued from 10am for morning sessions and from 1pm for the afternoon sessions.
