MEMBERS of the Royal British Legion in Trowbridge are set to resume their meetings.
The work of the RBL, such as welfare visits, phone calls, fundraising along with a flow of advice and information never really stopped over lockdown. However, the Trowbridge branch, like many others across the country, was forced to suspend monthly meetings in line with Government advice and guidelines.
Honorary Secretary Rick Owen said “We are now returning to The Wesley Road Club, on what we hope will be a regular basis: we’ll soon be starting to plan our autumn campaign for the Remembrance season and all that brings with it, so please come along if you would like to be part of the thriving ex-service community in Trowbridge.” The Legion works closely in partnership with St. James’ Parish Church and Trowbridge Town Council in organising the annual Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day events, together with the local Poppy Appeal.
Mr Owen added “We welcome everyone, especially all our members, but also those national servicemen and women who might like to renew our acquaintance and of course those who support our cause but have no military connection.”
