Mel Jacob, of The BIG Community Grow, writes . . .
“The Trowbridge Apple Festival started in March 2012 and is organised by registered charity The BIG Community Grow. The aim of the festival is to celebrate outdoor living, sustainability and growing and cooking food – we are keen to highlight traditional methods as well as environmentally friendly approaches. We offer a range of activities from apple tasting and juice pressing, traditional games crafts alongside stalls selling their goods and services or promoting community groups.
“This year’s event is taking place in Emmanuel’s Yard – using the indoor and outdoor spaces. The event will take place on Saturday 2nd October from 11am until 3pm. It is free for the public to attend. We will have a range of stalls and activities and short talks during the event.
“We are looking for stall holders who would like to take part and fit with our approach – we particularly encourage stalls with an interactive approach – demonstrations, tastings etc. We would also like to invite stallholders to do a short talk (about 20 minutes) about their activities or to do a demonstration where appropriate.
“There is no charge for a stand but we do ask for a donation of a raffle prize – our event is funded purely by grants and donations and we will have a draw on the day to raise some funds towards our costs.
