Following Town Council elections held in May 2021, Trowbridge Town Council has been developing its new strategy for the four-year term of office leading up to the next scheduled elections in 2025. Having completed many significant investment projects in recent years, with the final one, an Artificial Turf Pitch at Doric Park (adjacent to Trowbridge Rugby Club), which is due to be completed in the first part of this term, it is time for the new strategy to have a change of focus based on the following three themes:
A More Vibrant Trowbridge
Trowbridge Town Council will deliver a more vibrant town through its own facilities and events and by supporting those organised by others.
A More Active Trowbridge
Trowbridge Town Council will care for our environment, tackle Carbon Reduction, Sustainability and Climate Change and deliver a cleaner, greener Trowbridge.
A Greener Trowbridge
Trowbridge Town Council will ensure that the whole community has the opportunity to be more active to tackle health inequalities and assist the green agenda.
The new strategy was approved by the Council on Tuesday 16th November, including the following values:
SUPPORTING THE COMMUNITY: Building partnerships, listening, responding openly, honestly and realistically.
RAISING AMBITION: Promoting a confident, positive, cohesive inclusive place to live, to visit and to do business.
DELIVERING CHANGE: A sustainable town for the future, improving biodiversity and caring for the environment.
TAKING RESPONSIBILITY: For local management of local services and facilities.
Cllr Stewart Palmen, leader of the Town Council, said “I am really pleased that we have agreed our strategy for the Town Council that we will follow through to May 2025. The strategy will help us improve our town for our residents with a focus on a greener, more vibrant and active town. Over the next few years we can look forward to seeing real improvements in our town centre and green spaces and the completion of the Doric Park 3G pitch project.”
