After success as a shop within Trowbridge Town Hall opening in October 2019, We Are Undressed was forced to close due to various circumstances in July 2021. Initially, owner Leyla Bakali-Spence, having raised funding from the local community, opened the shop as a not-for-profit business. However, due to the onset of the Covid-19 epidemic, the decision was taken to close the business.

Soon, Leyla and her husband Niall decided to resurrect the idea with a new business venture Undressed, having found new premises in the town’s Fore Street, and also continuing their sense of ethics and values. As well as operating the business on the basis of customers supplying their own containers when shopping for loose cereals, cleaning liquids, pulses, and other household items and ingredients, they have expanded their range of organic products, in addition to selling houseplants.

The new premises it is hoped will enable to keep the business blossoming, whilst welcoming customers both old and new. The shop will also contain a space for natural beauty and cleaning therapies as well as renting the space out to local businesses.

So, drop by and say hi to Leyla and Niall (don’t forget your containers!) at 51 Fore Street, Trowbridge or visit the Undressed Trowbridge Facebook page.
