We are so pleased to bring you winter well wishes from Trowbridge Town’s Mayor, Councillor Denise Bates:

It has been an honour to represent our County Town of Trowbridge as Mayor since May 2021. As Covid restrictions have continued to ease, I have had the privilege of undertaking an increasing number of engagements over the summer and autumn months. An enjoyable part of these has involved meeting representatives of local organisations who work tirelessly to support and enhance the well-being of our community. Many of these work throughout the year with little recognition or reward.

Whilst we are entering what for many people is ‘the most wonderful time of the year’ according to a popular Christmas song, for others this period can be marred by loneliness, depression and isolation. As such, the most important resource we can offer is our time, whether volunteering as part of an organised charity, or through something as simple as calling on a neighbour. If you would like advice on volunteering, or to receive support from an organisation, please contact Trowbridge Town Council and we would be happy to assist.

As the Council looks towards 2022, we would like to continue to listen to our residents. This can be through submitting views via email, mail or telephone, or by attending any of our committee or Full Council meetings, where we value your suggestions and concerns.

On behalf of the officers and my fellow councillors at Trowbridge Town Council, I wish you a very happy, healthy and prosperous Christmas and New Year.

Cllr Denise Bates

Mayor of Trowbridge
