Wiltshire opticians, Haine & Smith, will be holding open days at some of its practices next week to raise awareness on the importance of eye health.
September 19 to 25 is National Eye Health Week and the independent eye specialists are using it as an opportunity to further educate the public on how to care for their eyes. They will also be reinforcing the importance of children’s eyes exams amidst a growing national concern of the increase of short sightedness (Myopia) in young people due to increased screen time.
Come along to the Trowbridge practice in The Shires on Friday, September 24 to meet the staff and learn about children’s eye health and examinations. Following the national news on the increase of Myopia (short-sightedness) in children, information on the signs to look out for and how parents can help at home, will be given out in the goody bags. Alongside this, the team will be available to discuss and demonstrate contact lens use and set up some trials for anyone who may be interested.
