Did you know that help is at hand for anyone who feels isolated from their community due to being blind or partially sighted and so has difficulty in reading a newspaper?
Trowbridge Talking News produces and distributes a regular news bulletin for those who meet our simple criteria. They receive a recording of news and interesting articles from the “Wiltshire Times” free of charge each week on a USB stick so that they can hear news about their community in the comfort of their own home and so not feel isolated from what is going on around them.
A player for the memory stick is provided free of charge so all the listener has to do is send the USB stick back each week in the pre-paid pouch provided.
If you know someone who would benefit from receiving the TTN home service further details of it can be found on the website trowbridgetalkingnews.org,uk or from Chris Williams, Secretary TTN on 07528 841930 or tt**********@gm***.com or by contacting the Trowbridge Information Centre.
All Readers and Duplicators who make the service work give their time voluntarily and there is always a need for more volunteers to share the load more equally, to provide cover for holidays or illness and ensure the service continues 52 weeks of the year. Full training and mentoring is given to all new Readers and Duplicators.
