Anyone interested in starting a business in Trowbridge who has not yet applied for a Vacant Commercial Unit grant of up to £100,000, is urged to do so as soon as possible.
Many applications for the £1.2m fund, which is part of the £16m Trowbridge Future High Street Fund, have already been received, so the funds may be allocated soon.
The grants are available for businesses to rent and renovate empty commercial units, or convert Trowbridge town centre properties.
Cllr Richard Clewer, Leader of Wiltshire Council says; “With this new scheme, we hope to attract applications from commercial property owners and businesses that will bring empty commercial spaces back into use. We will also support bids to convert upper floors of commercial premises to residential use. The scheme should reduce the number of vacant properties in the town centre and create new jobs for local people.”
