Projects run by Trowbridge Museum, planned specifically to engage the children and young people of Trowbridge in the rich history of the town, will culminate in a summer exhibition showing their work. Objects from the Museum’s collection will provide the basis for a whole range of fun and imaginative activities to inspire children to create their interpretation of the town’s amazing history and surrounding wildlife.

The first project called ‘The Wild Way Home’ includes activities such as creative craft, ‘poetry with art’ sessions with artist and poet Josephine Corcoran, biodiversity surveys, online activities to do at home or on the move, plus much, much more. A pack of materials is available, from the Museum, to support online and at home activities and is absolutely free! Just pop in to the Museum during opening hours to collect your pack.

The second project supports work for the summer exhibition called ‘Retold – Our Town’s Past Interpreted by its Future.’ Children are invited to explore items from the Museum collection and recreate them using a variety of media based on their own interpretation. The Museum would really love to show case the children and young people’s work and invites them to join the activities, which start at the beginning of January.

The ‘Retold’ exhibition, runs from 13th May 2023 – 30th September 2023.
