Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984
Temporary Closure of: Church Street (Part) and Union Street (Part), Trowbridge (Ref: TTRO 8540)
Notice is hereby given that Wiltshire Council has made an Order to:
Close temporarily to all traffic:
A) Church Street (Part), Trowbridge; from its junction with B3106 to its junction with Duke Street. B) Union Street (Part), Trowbridge from its junction with Timbrell Street to its junction with Church Street. And to temporarily suspend the existing One Way Order on the following length of road to facilitate access for vehicles:
C) Church Street (Part), Trowbridge; from its junction with Union Street to its junction with Silver Street/Roundstone Street.
And to temporary suspend the existing Prohibition of Driving Order (with exemptions) on the following length of road to allow a suitable diversion for use of all traffic and motor vehicles:
D) Roundstone Street (Part), Trowbridge; from its junction with Church Street to a point approximately in line with the north-eastern elevation of No. 4 Roundstone Street.
To enable: Wiltshire Council to carry out surfacing and associated works.
Alternative route: via Manvers Street – Fore Street – Wicker Hill – B3106 – Conigre – Timbrell Street – Union Street (unaffected length) – The Halve – Hilperton Road – C372 – Church Street (unaffected length) – Castle Street – Fore Street and vice versa. The closures and diversion route will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. This Order will come into operation on 15 March 2023 and the closures and suspensions will be required between the hours of 19:00 and 23:59 until 27 March 2023 (no weekend working). It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works. The Order will have a maximum duration of 18 months.
