Dear Residents & Visitors to Trowbridge Park,
We understand the frustrations related to the current condition of the Trowbridge Park Pond. After the last rainfall that filled the pond completely it would have been noted it quickly emptied within a day of rainfall stopping. It has become evident that the small repairs to slow leakage have been unsuccessful. Our preliminary suspicions are that the weight of silt has significantly damaged the lining to the pond and officers have now been asked to approach specialists to quote for the removal of the silt to repair the liner to enable the pond to retain water. Whilst this won’t provide the substantial upgrade as proposed by the Wiltshire Wildlife Trust, those further improvements can follow when the access to funding and other resources become available. In the meantime, the town council Neighbourhood Services team will continue to remove the rubbish and any glass that has been thrown in.
