The Mayor of Trowbridge Councillor Mayor Graham Hill was delighted to host the Annual Civic Dinner and Dance this year, taking place on Saturday 18th March 2023 at Trowbridge Civic Centre, as he continues to raise money for his local chosen charities, Wiltshire Air Ambulance and Storehouse Foodbank Trowbridge, The event had a festival theme, with our very own pyramid stage, hay bales and cattle! On the evening £2160.00 was raised through raffles, charity auctions and donations.  In previous years the Dinner and Dance has raised many thousands of pounds for local charities and is an event that celebrates Trowbridge as well as a busy Mayoral year.

Not only does the event support the local charities, achievements within the town are recognised by the presentation of  both the Civic Award (recognising an individual or organisation that has made a significant contribution to the town) and the Town Enhancement Award (similarly, a building project that has enhanced Trowbridge).

The winners this year are:

Sandra Blake, of the Studley Green Community Centre Sandra won an award for outstanding service to the people of Trowbridge – she was treasurer of the Studley Green Community Centre for 30 years.

Simon and Carey Tesler, of Parade House won a civic award for town enhancement, following their restoration of the historic Grade I-listed Parade House in Fore Street.  it has been brought back to life as a venue for meetings, weddings and even comes with its own cinema and bar and has been refurbished gently but thoroughly to preserve its original features.

The third was a special Mayoral Award to Kevin Hartley, for his dedication to recording the civic events and ongoing history of the town.

Trowbridge Town Council is extremely grateful for the generosity of the event’s sponsor this year, Apple A Day. Apple A Day Supply are a Wiltshire based and Teacher-run education recruitment, retention and consultancy company with 10 years’ experience of supporting the local sector.
