Open Day at Parade House
September 10 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
Free entry 10am to 4pm – no reservation necessary
Step back in history to the Georgian period and visit the elegant rooms of Grade 1 listed Parade House, built in 1730 and one of Trowbridge’s finest buildings. Built in around 1730 for the wealthy cloth merchant Robert Houlton, Parade House is one of the finest and most elegant buildings in Trowbridge, the centrepiece of what Pevsner’s Guide to Wiltshire described as a “stretch of palaces” along Fore Street. Recently restored, it features beautiful reception rooms, a sweeping staircase and grand ballroom.
Parade House forms part of the Heritage Open Days history trail around the town on Saturday 10th September.
