Trowbridge Town Council are proud to be hosting a new and exciting event for Trowbridge this winter – the magical and spectacular Trowbridge Christmas Lantern Festival, as part of the town’s Christmas Lights Switch-On. Scores of beautiful, handcrafted willow lanterns will be paraded through the Town Centre led by a lively and colourful samba band! Bringing a carnival feel to proceedings, the Lantern Festival will bring together the community of Trowbridge to share in the magic of Christmas and spread light throughout the town!

As a new and exciting event for 2019, the Lantern Procession will be the talking point of Trowbridge. Local schools, community groups, charities and businesses will all be crafting beautiful willow lanterns in the run up to the switch on and parade.

The Procession will take place on 30th November 2019 when Trowbridge Town Council will also be hosting the popular Christmas light switch on event in the Town Park, with the big moment at 5.00pm, at which time the lights will go on throughout the centre of Trowbridge, officially launching the town’s annual seasonal trading campaign. The occasion will feature a wide range of family friendly entertainment and activities throughout the day (from 10.30am – 6pm), fairground attractions, festive donkey rides, live music, great food and drink.

We are delighted to announce that Rocktopus – The Ultimate Rock Band for kids and families – will be providing the evening entertainment on the stage before the big switch on itself! Come along and join in the fun!

Also, why not join the traditional Shoppers’ Carol Service at St. James’ Parish Church at 5.30pm?
