The beautiful, well-kept park, originally known as the People’s Park at its opening in the late 19th century, is truly the focal point of Trowbridge. With its open, grassy spaces, children’s play area, mini golf, tennis courts, amongst other features, and the park lake is home to a number of ducks and other waterfowl (the Information Centre offers small bags of duck food: pop in and grab a bag for 50p – all proceeds go toward the upkeep of the park. There’s also a ‘bug hotel’, a firm favourite with young fans of creepy-crawlies! The park is also perfect for picnics, games or simply relaxing while reading a book. The park also offers a 1k ‘Trim Trail’ for fitness enthusiasts, and is also dog-friendly.
Each year the park holds many events including fairs, circus and the Active Festival sports extravaganza, so keep an eye on our calendar to see what’s coming up by clicking here!
St Stephen’s Place leisure complex, at the edge of the park, has a multi-screen Odeon cinema, and a wide range of dining options. The town centre is also in walking distance, along with bus and train services.
