Events and Conference Assistant

Permanent Contract
37 hours per week. On a rota basis, to include evenings and weekends.

Salary: £18,795 – £19,945 per annum. Scale Point: 5-8

To be part of a team at Trowbridge Town Council, assisting the management in the day to day events and hospitality programme.

Main Duties:

As our Events and Conference Assistant your duties will include aspects of bar service, service delivery for events and conferencing, high levels of customer service, building security, safety and presentation. Our events can range from weddings and large corporate functions, to private parties, conferences, live music events to small fitness classes. Whatever the occasion, as part of the team you will ensure all of our guests receive efficient, professional and friendly service at all times. Person Specification
To be the Events and Conference Assistant you will need to be able to:

  • Undertake work in a well-organised and planned way
  • Show a positive, friendly and professional manner with customers

Previous Experience
The successful applicant must have previous experience in customer service preferably in a hospitality related role, and be able to work flexible hours on rota basis. An aptitude for attention to detail and the ability to work on own initiative while maintaining a cheerful disposition is required.

Neighbourhood Services Groundsman

1 Year Fixed Term Contract: 1st April 2019 – 31st March 2020
37 hours per week, on a rota basis, to include some weekends

£17,364 – £18,426 per annum. Scale Point 1-4 Pending Pay Review

The main purpose of the role is:

Act as Groundsman Operative for Trowbridge Town Council to carry out associated tasks and provide an effective and clean street scene environment including; the town park, town centre, floral beds, closed church yards, play and open recreational areas. This will also include fulfilling maintenance services under the direction of the Neighbourhood Services Supervisor.

This involves:

Providing street and other cleaning services of a high standard throughout the town.

Ensure the safe operation of the sweeper and other machinery, including compliance with all road Highway and Regulations.

Also demonstrate professionalism particularly when working out in the public view.

Casual Bar & Venue Assistants

The Civic Centre are looking to recruit Casual Bar and Venues Assistants to assist the operations team in delivering the in-house catering services at Trowbridge Civic Centre.
Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering excellent customer service at all times
  • To serve both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages from our bar during events
  • To serve hot beverages quickly and efficiently, meeting our high standards
  • To assist in keeping the front of house and Civic Centre facilities clean and tidy at all times
  • To ensure the back of house duties are carried out as directed by the Duty Manager
  • To always adhere to company policies, procedures and licensing laws.

Ideally you will be a strong team player with the ability to work under pressure in a calm, effective manner and have a friendly, helpful and positive approach towards customers.

Please note that previous experience of working within the hospitality industry is essential.
